The Airport Adventure begins - Saturday (part 1)

The next morning...

We headed out to the airport early enough just to make sure there was plenty of time to acquire his B1 Visa at the immigration.

Friends were there way before us :o
It was so nice to see so many people come see Chris off and soooo early in the morning on top of it. 5:30 am to be exact.

Joe was pretty anxious to get there on time because there were some issues with the papers and as usual forgets something at home the last minute so ya that brought us back a bit.

Immigration office:

We were soooo RELIEVED that he passed the immigration without complications.
It's a long story that started at birth.
We had too many names on his birth certificate  and the church adhered to the 'long' name which did not correspond with his passport name which complicated the whole process.

So of course the inevitable happened...

...we missed our flight!!!

PATIENCE, patience, and more patience....

Customer Service

So onto the customer service and we spent an hour-and-a-half trying to find a connecting flight. The only one that made sense was to fly out the next day.

However Joe persisted and yep silent prayers were offered once again hoping  to get  to Utah because there was a huge list on Chris shopping list that was left undone.

Chris was disappointed that he couldn`t stay in Montreal another night because he said he left something very important behind.... a bag of  'alfajores' home-made cookies from a friend.

Miraculously, we found a flight for that day...
GUESS which one?

It was the same flight we had missed while waiting at the immigration office!
YES... strangely enough...the flight was delayed because of engine failure and an hour and half later, we were on that same flight, same destination.
