<div dir="ltr">
Hello all!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sgQn7anm4IY/U0tHRfkQv0I/AAAAAAAAB30/tdrJn3Ckz48/s1600/DSC07933.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sgQn7anm4IY/U0tHRfkQv0I/AAAAAAAAB30/tdrJn3Ckz48/s1600/DSC07933.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a>So guess what??? IT'S SUPER HOT HERE!!! Summer season has started and thankfully it's my last summer here. It's pretty hot here in Vigan. So let's see what I did this past week. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_963723430" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Monday</span></span>, we visited ate Karen. Actually, it was a really good week this week. We FINALLY got our best friend Arthur Acena to church. He's been investigating for 2 years! I think I told you about him before... the old man who came to the Branch FHE. Well I have a picture with him! We also had this new investigator come to church as well. It's the daughter of our recent convert. She and her husband came to church. They accepted baptism really well. They really want to know.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-onY2Bwi3rAI/U0tHuIU_k9I/AAAAAAAAB4E/ELUAFGPLYKw/s1600/DSC07589.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-onY2Bwi3rAI/U0tHuIU_k9I/AAAAAAAAB4E/ELUAFGPLYKw/s1600/DSC07589.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3E4z0zI1Go/U0tHueOi5EI/AAAAAAAAB4A/JNMqau_wIPU/s1600/DSC07932.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3E4z0zI1Go/U0tHueOi5EI/AAAAAAAAB4A/JNMqau_wIPU/s1600/DSC07932.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This past week we did a lot of finding. We have a lot of old people we are teaching. The area goal is to save the rising generation. Elder Oberg says "we're supposed to save the rising generation; but we're saving dying generation." The people we teach in the morning are 60+ years old.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We also found this dog outside our apartment. We fed our scraps to it. We named the dog Saggy. Just check the picture to see why. Dogs here are pretty gross.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this past week... it was tough for the other elders in our apartment.. the work was at a stand-still. Also for the sisters in our branch. Just to give you an idea, the elders were working in Vigan city itself and the sisters were out in the bukid. It's kind of backwards. So I prayed about it if I should switch and I felt strongly that it should be changed. So I reported it to the BML then we talked to President Piedad. What we found out is that Vigan city was actually supposed to be for the sisters. Well that's the power of prayer! It's all done in a wise purpose that we don't understand.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So to answer your questions dad. Ilocano.. narigat pay.. Tagalog.. mahirap pa.. French.. Difficile. I tried talking to a french guy back in Laoag and I kept saying po or sige all over the place. And we talk to the family here in Tagalog or English. Broken Ilocano to the kids. Actually, auntie Jean brought Uno to church. Ace wanted to come but he's 3 years old and makulit. He should just come anyways.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Oh by the way, about DA's... Ipinagbabawal ni President Barrientos ang mga DAs after <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_963723431" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">5 pm</span></span>. He wants us out proselyting after<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_963723432" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">5 pm</span></span> because that's when most people are home.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Our rice is not that Milagrosa stuff haha.. we buy that sinandomeng rice. If we're really poor.. TFA na lang. We're actually going to eat really really cheap this week. Torta. Money is scarce on a 5-week month. So we're all trying to survive.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, it's really hard to explain how I feel the Spirit during lessons. Just go work with the missionaries and you'll find out for yourself.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And being out for a year now, me and Elder Oberg were talking about this <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_963723433" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">yesterday</span></span>. For some reason, we look forward to General Conference now being missionaries haha. Before, it wasn't as important. One big thing I noticed for myself is how much I look forward to reading the scriptures. I'm reading the Old Testament now and man is it boring sometimes!!! But I've actually used the stories from there in some lessons.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, I don't think I have any more news... except work is hard still but it's still fun!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love you all! and take care!</div>

I'm still in Vigan!<blockquote style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" type="cite">
<div dir="ltr">
Hello family,<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this is the news for this week. When President said I was going to move this transfer, I think he changed his mind because I'm still in Vigan!!! Auntie Jean was super happy when she found out I'm still here. So now I have more time to do whatever. Well missionary work obviously. I started making a family tree here. I'm just getting names. I'll start getting birth dates, death dates, marriage dates, whatever dates, children. All the stuff for family history. I love playing with my nieces and nephews here. They're marami. It's like spending time with Esa or Mak mak or fredrick or liam or auraya or ... well there's so many. Especially here. It's weird sometimes because one of my niece, Vanessa, is almost as old as me. That's probably how mom felt since ate Sally is almost mom's age.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So last week, it was pretty discouraging since Vanessa and her husband are not really allowed to come to our church since their barangay made it bawal to listen to other people. Parang wala nang free agency. Ayos lang. I found a scripture to motivate me. 2 Nephi 28:18. So all is good. We'll just keep teaching them. Later this evening, we're going to visit ate Karen. I thought I was getting transferred so we planned on visiting a whole bunch of them and have despedida but nevermind. I'll just go visit them anyways just to finally visit them!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YE__uofb9-c/U0tFVfMQf-I/AAAAAAAAB3o/7DbfzQ-5V_k/s1600/DSCN3107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YE__uofb9-c/U0tFVfMQf-I/AAAAAAAAB3o/7DbfzQ-5V_k/s1600/DSCN3107.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a>Anyways, this these last two days were medyo pangit. We have this minor leak under our the bucket underneath overflowed. So I emptied it out last night. This morning, we walked into our kitchen and it was super flooded! So we called over the landlady and we temporarily have no kitchen sink. Good thing though is that we have 2 other sinks in our apartment. That's our adventures here in Vigan. Me and Elder Oberg were also walking around 3 of our barangays (centro ng Caoayan) and we saw all these crosses outside on tables with candles. We we're pretty weirded out... We later found out that there's procession going on. When it comes to missionary work in Vigan, all I can think about is 1 Nephi 13 and 2 Nephi 28. It's one of the hardest areas I've been in.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The work actually has been at a pause for some reason here. We have been struggling finding our investigators. So we dropped most of them. We are spending this whole week finding. Our investigators who have a baptismal date are still not going to church. One of them got a job and had work <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_963723429" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">last sunday</span></span>... how unfortunate. She was so close to getting baptized. As for our friend Arthur, he didn't come to church again. We bought glue for his shoe because we found out the reason why he didn't come the week before is that his shoe actually fell apart. I guess he didn't use it. It's slowly working it's way back up though. We found the daughter of our recent convert, and she and her husband already accepted the baptismal invitation. All we need to do now is commit them to a date.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, this month is gonna be a tough month. We're gonna start going cheap on food hehe. We're going to eat mostly fish so time to learn some new fish dishes. Actually, last week, I cooked sinigang and we didn't have the packet for the sabaw, at walang sampalok or any pang-asim sa apartment. So we grabbed a green mango from the tree and chopped it and used it. And... the sinigang tasted really good. Unfortunately for Elder Hunsaker, ayaw niya talaga ang fish. So he's going to buy chicken nuggets in Solid West.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, wala nang balita. At least I don't think so... anyways. Take care all of you! Love you all!</div>

It's been fun working here in Vigan but it's really expensive. It's now getting really hot!!! The summer season has started. So for today's p-day, we spent the morning at the libing ng asawa ni ate Auring. We got permission from President Barrientos to be able to attend. So we sat in the Vigan cathedral for an hour or so. </div>

It's pretty weird, especially wearing proselyting clothes and a name tag. We also went to the burial. We got to march with them. It's an experience. Then we ate back at San Pedro. Then we went to go check out the baybay malapit sa kanila. Every monday we try to go find some sort of tourist spot so that we can enjoy our time in the Philippines.</div>

So this past week, we actually had a branch activity. It was pretty fun. It was called "Missionary Work, Retention and Reactivation" or... branch FHE. It was a success. There were plenty of investigators there and we had less-actives there too. Our favourite investigator, Arthur Acena, came. He's 64 years old. He also played the games at the activity. Unfortunately we didn't see him at church. It's most probably because he's embarrassed of his broken shoe. I'll take a picture with him one day.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm not really sure what happened this week...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Oh! We also decided to look for this random former investigator. Elder Erickson told me about this one house they found and how he lived in a mansion. He was really interested but then told the missionaries to not come back because his mother (who is super old) would get mad at them because she's super catholic. We went to go check it out, to also go see if the mother is still alive so we could start teaching him... unfortunately we met the mother and she looks pretty healthy for a really old lady. And the guy is REALLY rich. There's a picture of his mansion. </div>

<blockquote style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" type="cite">
<div dir="ltr">
<div>
The first day we tried finding his house was really hard. There's two paths to bongtolan, left and right. The first day we went through the right path and ended up in some random place in the bukid. Apparently it was still Camangaan. So the next day we found signs of life of Bongtolan on the left path. As we were walking, a family just saying "hi elders." We stopped and started to talk to them. They ended up being less-actives. Tatay angel agcaoili is 80 something years old. We taught him some other day and he's losing his mind kind of. He doesn't remember our church. He's mixing it up with catholic and mormon and calling it baptist or born again. And he's really madaldal. So we decided to cut the lesson quick or else he'd talk forever about anything. I guess he just wants someone to talk to cause he's so old.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Oh, this week we also had the chance to teach Vanessa and her husband. It's pretty awkward sometimes teaching some of the family because they're really really shy. Auntie Jean and Julius are fine. They're not shy at all. My kuyas here are actually shy. It's funny sometimes. I found out all the names of my cousins here. I asked auntie Jean to give me the names of them all.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There's actually not that much news this past week. I can't think of anything. I'll probably have some news next week since I'll know where I'll be going. Transfers are really exciting. Sometimes really scary since a lot of missionaries DON'T want to go to Cagayan. I don't know why that is. I guess it's because it's so far away. It's a real adventure when you're there. Sta. Ana was a nice part of Cagayan though. It'll be fun. It doesn't matter where I'll go.</div>

He just stared at a paper and told me how the office elders put the totals wrong for the key indicators. Then on top of that, he told me I'll be transferred. There goes the surprise again. But this time he didn't tell me where or what I'll be doing.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So last week, ate's husband did pass away and it was from a motorcycle accident due to drunk driving. Well that's what I understood. Motorcycle accidents are extremely common here. We went to where the casket is last week and auntie Jean asked me to say a prayer. So I did. Odd enough, I lost my voice the day before so it was kind of embarrassing trying to pray.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We also attended the San Pedro barangay festival, just to eat. There was so much food. We helped the day before with preparing the vegetables, so we did some service. It's nice to finally see some more cousins here. I met ate Nympha and ate Lisa. Ate Lisa laughed because we finally meet... in the Philippines, instead of back home in Canada! For these next two weeks, I'm going to try to visit the family as much as possible to get them to go to church and to commit them to listen to the missionaries so that they have people to teach. I had a feeling I was going to be transferred hehe. I'll be able to come back if any of them do get baptized.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ap_nSCQ1ztk/U0s-J2b_IzI/AAAAAAAAB1k/uFA5b8ybvNM/s1600/IMG_6155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ap_nSCQ1ztk/U0s-J2b_IzI/AAAAAAAAB1k/uFA5b8ybvNM/s1600/IMG_6155.JPG" height="200" width="133" /></a></div>
<div>
So when it comes to missionary work this past week, we had exchanges. I went to Cabugao and worked with Elder Benally. We taught this guy who we met on the street while we were looking for a referral. We sat down and he kept asking Elder Benally where he was from. Elder Benally repeated himself about 3 times and he asked again and I was about to laugh. The guy was like 1/4 drunk. But Elder Benally said he's a little crazy even when not drunk. He was asking good questions though and then he noticed how Elder Benally is good in Tagalog so he thought Elder Benally was FBI. He goes "I think we'll stop there because you must be FBI... how old are you?" Then Elder Benally tells him he's 20. So he says, "Oh okay, then you can't be FBI." What a weird old man. Then in our area of Vigan 2B.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We contacted this potential investigator and we taught him. We asked if he's looking for the truth and he said yes. We asked him if we could continue and he said no because it's bawal (forbidden). We then asked why it's bawal and he said he doesn't know... then tells us cause his pastor says it's bawal. Whatever.. so we asked him if he would pray about our message and he just flat out says no. What a waste of time haha. Didn't even try to find the truth.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One day, we had this fellowshipper and we wanted to take him to certain people but we asked him who the members are around him. He took us to this one lady and we were hoping to be there for 15-30 minutes. She ended up being super madaldal! Then we finally finished and went to the next appointment... another madaldal!! But we figured out how to help brother Arthur. He wants to come to church but the problem is he doesn't have clothes ready. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_547992610" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Tomorrow</span></span>, we plan on telling him to clean his clothes and just wear his tsinelas to church. We have someone to pick him up. That will work. He's been investigating forever but he knows everything is true.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Right now, there's some random girls who walked into the computer shop and are playing guitar and singing. It'd be nice if they were good.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Actually, in front of our apartment, they blast music from across at the shop. It's always Bon Jovi, Scorpions, random filipino songs. All those classics. Kind of like those songs that uncle Lito loves to sing. It always starts playing when we start studying. Super big distraction.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And now they those girls asked us for donations but we just told them no, we're missionaries.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, thanks dad for the hockey updates about the winter olympics. Sometimes it's playing on peoples' television.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, ay-ayatenkayon!</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Hello everyone!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t-yFaqUtHyM/U0s50fqAFbI/AAAAAAAABz8/HsElfZFOftM/s1600/DSC07855.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t-yFaqUtHyM/U0s50fqAFbI/AAAAAAAABz8/HsElfZFOftM/s1600/DSC07855.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a>So this past week was busy. We were helping our investigators get ready for their baptism. It was a big day last saturday. We combined both Vigan 1st and 2nd's baptism so there was a total of 10!!! It's been 3 transfers that me and elder Oberg haven't had baptisms. So that's the good news. We still have more coming up for next month. We are hoping for around 3. Our zone last thursday set a goal of 35 baptisms for the month of march. It's a huge goal and it's going to take a lot of work. But with righteous desires, it is totally possible.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Other than that, nothing special happened this week. We just had our zone training meeting. It's pretty cool since Elder Williams and Elder Erickson are both in my zone now. Elder Williams is now our zone leader. Elder Erickson is the district leader for Cabugao.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oh3SglSU8jE/U0s50RroTEI/AAAAAAAAB0A/eZSTlUMzJq8/s1600/DSC07858.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oh3SglSU8jE/U0s50RroTEI/AAAAAAAAB0A/eZSTlUMzJq8/s1600/DSC07858.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a>We have the craziest teaching pool here. We have some investigators who love to talk about God. There's one... Arthur Acena. He knows everything is true and wants to know everything in detail. Before, we made the mistake of having him share his concerns or what he learned... then he'd totally control the lesson. Then we taught him where we dove straight into the lesson. And it was a success! He finally feels he needs to come to church to compare. Then we have this other investigator, Bong Bong Ardaniel. He's really interesting. He's been listening to a whole bunch of different religions and we think he may have been listening to this really crazy stuff too. He told us to be friends with Satan... because he used to be up there in heaven with God... (Basically it's the lesson on pre-earth life, but it's sooooobrang baligtad!) Hopefully we can correct him on it. That's the next lesson. Then he went on in telling us to read some book because it was written by the archangels. So I asked him does it have references to the scriptures and he said no because it's written by the archangels. Then we tried to explain to him how only prophets are allowed to write in books. I think we may need to have a lesson on prophets again. Anyways, some of the people we teach are just interesting.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Visiting our family has been hard this week because they are super busy with the barangay festival in San Pedro. Fortunately, auntie Jean still came to church <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_547992607" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on sunday</span></span>!!! Julius Agapinan wants to be baptized but he's afraid of what his parents would say. And this week, we are going to try and visit Vanessa and her husband. There's so many people I still need to visit here. I told auntie to tell me when ate Liza gets here. Also when ate Nympha gets here too. It'd be nice to actually see them finally. We'll probably be attending the wedding while we're here... that's if it's before transfers. I might actually be transferred so... who knows?</div>
<div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JY14lGBoJX8/U0s25cRL9hI/AAAAAAAABzU/t3kUzTLcipI/s1600/DSC07896.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JY14lGBoJX8/U0s25cRL9hI/AAAAAAAABzU/t3kUzTLcipI/s1600/DSC07896.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
So today, we went back to the zoo for a zone activity. It's still fun going there since it's a different group. I feel bad for some missionaries cause they've been in this area for awhile and activity's are always at the zoo if you are in the Vigan zone. Afterwards, some of us went to eat at the "Ihawan sa Caoayan." Ihawan is basically a place where they grill stuff... especially seafood! Yum! Elder Hunsaker doesn't really like seafood. Oh and we eat with our hands. It's the same place where I went with the office.</div>

<div>
So this saturday is a big day for the Vigan District. We have 10 baptisms total here. 5 from our area. 2 from the sisters in 1C. and 3 from the sisters in 1A. We are going to have a combined baptism with branch 1 and branch 2. So it's going to be busy day. It was busier last saturday because of the interviews. Sunday also. I had to interview of them on saturday and it was super matagal. Ganoon din sa sunday. We didn't have time to eat lunch because the zone leaders came directly from Cabugao to do the interviews. I actually have to do another interview on saturday. So many baptisms now in Vigan. We barely had any last transfer.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, concerning our family here. They're good. I sent the sisters to go visis Vanessa and her husband. The new missionary extended them a baptismal date on the first visit. So mediyo magulat sila haha. But that's fine. I will be going there myself on friday to go visit them. I'll probably ask auntie to come with us there too.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, what interesting things happened this week... Oh last monday, we walked into some random museum. FREE!!! It's the Crisologo museum. Not really sure who that guy is but the main point is.. ITS FREE!!! </div>

On tuesday, I got to go to Laoag. I travelled up there with Elder Erickson. Got to catch up with some of my batch at the MTC. We were basically trained on how we should conduct district meetings and how interviews should be. They said how all our meetings should be really focused on helping the missionaries get baptisms instead of just improving skills. He compared it to a sports game where the goal is to score but to score we need game plans. Sometimes we're so magaling in the game plans that we forget to shoot. So that was the training. Then we went back to the mission home and played basketball there. I played in tsinelas. It's super hard! Then we had cake and stuff. Then slept in the mission office. So it was a good day.</div>

So those kids in the pictures are ate Cristian's kids (Uno and Ace) and kuya Jeff's kid (Ashley). They're auntie Jean's mga apo. I have videos at their house but I don't know if it's going to fit inside the email hehe.</div>

<div>
Oh by the way, my new companion is Elder Oberg. He's from Utah. And it's good, he can speak Tagalog. It's nice to finally have a companion that can speak and teach so that way I don't have to teach most of the lesson.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Unfortunately, this week, we've lost another investigator. They are just so set in being Catholic. She asked us if we were there to convince her to be mormon and I told her yes. Funny thing is she asked us to teach her, so something is baligtad. We think it's her mom that's influencing her. That's the biggest problem here I realized, no one wants to change. There's one super dominant religion here and everyone is stuck to it. We even taught to auntie Jean and ate Cristian about commandments a few days ago and we talked about the 10 commandments. It's surprising how the 2nd commandment is missing. There's a million idols here and they have ginormous statues of Mary. We saw it a parade. It's really weird. Ate Cristian was arguing that isn't part of the 10 commandments, to not have idols, since we read it from the Book of Mormon. We then shared it from exodus, and then she realized. It gets people thinking when you open their eyes a bit. Me and Elder Oberg might just start sharing the 10 commandments whenever we present the first lesson, especially when we reach about prophets.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Also, we found out na parte ng area namin ay sobrang mahirap. Kasi, ang lahat sila ay ang mga tinuruan ng mga missionary. Kaya, sinabi ni brother Queypo na matigas ang ulo at puso nila. So that's a good chunk of our area. Sobrang mahirap to proselyte there. We are relying sa mga referrals. Sometimes we have to travel super far away to get to one of our investigators. It's good since she has a baptismal date. So that's the interesting stories we had about proselyting so far.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So one night, we got stuck in San Pedro Sur, so we were hunting for a tryce. Then this drunk guy stopped and came to help us but then the house we were next to had a tryce. One of the guys told him to go home and sleep. And he said, "If you you go to sleep, God will love you. If you don't go to sleep, God will not love you." It's super random. Luckily we got a ride home.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I found out that some of my cousins don't talk to me because they're shy. It just reminded me of the first day I saw Vanessa how she ran. They're super shy here haha. I'm probably going to visit them one by one in their own homes. I'll ask auntie Jean to start sharing with the family. I think she may have a big influence on people there. Even when I do leave here, she can keep helping the missionaries.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So anyways, I'm not sure what else hehe. What are some updates from back home? Anyways, take care at ay-ayatenkan!</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Hello family!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So my foot fungus or stinky feet is gone. That was fun. At least now I don't have to smell bad everywhere. And yet again, I survived a transfer and will be staying in Vigan. I have no idea how long though.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah, auntie Jean told me that ate lisa's wedding is really soon. Ate Nympha is coming back for a bit too. It's super exciting to meet my cousins finally instead of always seeing them on facebook! Hopefully I can come back here and enjoy my time with them instead of just being a missionary. At least now I have a purpose to be here in Vigan. One by one, I'm trying to track them and teach them. So far we're teaching auntie Jean, Julius, Ate Sally's family, sometimes ate Ria, and we're going to try Vanessa this week. I have special permission to roam Vigan hunting for our family. <b><span style="background-color: yellow; color: black;">Also please tell me what information you would need for family history since I'm here. This is probably one of the best chances you have mom to get names, dates and whatever while I'm here. </span></b>Sometimes, it takes time for people to get information like those, but since I'm here, I can push them hehe.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So you don't need to send me stuff really. I can get soap, shampoo, and contact solution here. In a few months though I may need to buy some more contacts.<b style="background-color: yellow;"> But what I really need you to send are old scriptures!</b> Anyways, if Uncle Lito does come, he needs to drop off the stuff at the mission home in Laoag. I'm pretty sure he's not allowed to find me while I'm here unless I'm still in Vigan. I'll most likely be here until the beginning of march. Unless I survive another transfer, then I'll be here until April.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah, in terms of the work here, this next transfer, we have around 6 baptisms in the first few weeks of February! We have a lot of people in mind for baptism too. It's actually been awhile since I had a baptism. We couldn't get any in Laoag because we're always in the office. We got close though but that's that. Now the work to do is in Vigan. Especially helping the district out with the work here. Things are finally picking up here in Vigan. We were counting <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1715749187" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">yesterday</span></span> and there should be 11 baptisms in the district.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And yes mom, you should communicate with your family here. Encourage them to listen... since you're probably on facebook a lot. Facebook message them and tell them to find me. Tell them to ask auntie Jean. I'd give you my cellphone number here but that'd be a terrible idea haha.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So let's see... interesting stories this past week... So we met this guy bong bong Ardaniel. He's a referral from the Vigan 2A elders. He lives near the Rosario family (very big family in the branch). He lives near a bible study group. So we teach at this bible study group. And one time we walked in there and bong bong wasn't there so we kinna sat in on a lecture they were giving. A lot of their beliefs go along our beliefs: God's government, religions centralized on one source. So the lady giving the lecture asked us so many questions. We answered them and ended up teaching them and more people we're interested in our message. We found out later she used to be taught by missionaries since 1992. We also found out another missionary of that bible study group was a dating member. So that's a big reason why our beliefs coincide. What's interesting is that that dating member's name is Reynaldo Morales! That's just weird. Well our last name is extremely popular in many hispanic countries.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We also had this one investigator, su-yen. We extended her baptismal invitation and she seemed unsure. Later we found out she asked her father if its okay if we continue teaching her and one day if ever, she would be baptized. Her father said to stop taking lessons so that we won't confuse her... It's sad to see these things happen but what we're planning on doing is sending the missionaries to her father in Aparri. They need it. We can tell she wants to hear the gospel.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What I also noticed is how people know Jesus Christ, but yet don't really know Him. They know that Jesus Christ died for our sins. But they don't know what that means. They don't even know what Jesus Christ did while He was alive<i>. Read 1 Nephi 11</i>. It's all there. It's so simple. But they just don't know. Sometimes we just take things for granted and don't really know the importance of things. Especially the atonement. One thing we become really good at as missionaries is asking questions. That's one thing I learned here. Especially asking those questions that really get you thinking about life. For example: Why does your family mean so much to you? We never ever think about those things, then we really need to think about it. Another question: What does it mean to you that Jesus Christ died for your sins? Then people really get thinking.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's fun teaching our family here. I have fun discussions with Auntie Jean about things she noticed at churches. She loves coming to church, so does Julius. They keep bearing their testimonies to me. I don't even need to tell them to come to church. They just come. Ate Sally's family has been really busy these past few weeks due to the longganisa festival. But since that's over. Restart kami. The lesson is about what happens after this life. That should be really interesting and fun to teach them. Please mom encourage them to listen! Everyone needs a push. <i>2 Nephi <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1715749188" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">2:16</span></span></i>. Entice them to do good!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's especially fun going to the family house. I've seen the house that Uncle Lito has been giving money for. It's BIG! But there's still a lot of work to do. It's fun spending time with the nieces and nephews. It's like spending time with Esa. They all call me tito Chris. It's funny hearing my name sometimes. But the kids are so cute haha. If only you could see. Especially Ace. There's also Ashley, who kind of looks like ate alicia. There's Uno, ann ann, may may. Marami sila! Next time I will take a picture with all of them! Hopefully those story books I ordered will get here so I could give it to the kids.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So that's the news here! Love you all!</div>

I'm gonna lend my camera to Julius to take pictures for me. And yes I'm extremely serious in sending old scriptures and sending missionaries to Auntie Linda. I'll also try and get dating Elder Soriano to go with the missionaries to her.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways... nothing really interesting happened last week. We had extra meetings this week. I had to go to Cabugao for exchanges. Apparently there are Morales there too.. but Morales is just an extremely common last name especially here. There's actually a Reynaldo Morales somewhere in Vigan. Oh and while I was looking at the zone's baptismal dates while I was up in Cabugao, there's one name that showed up and it's "Rose Morales." That's too funny!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, your family is doing good mom. Auntie and Julius should be getting baptized soon hopefully. For ate Sally and her two kids, we need them to continue coming to church but they should be back next week. Ate Sally is too busy cause she works in the city hall, and its especially busy now since its the longganisa festival. She's actually asking us all these funny questions since she's researching mormons on the internet. We got one about Joseph Smith and polygamy. Obviously there will be A LOT of stuff on the internet, usually not pointing out the good stuff, since that is the knowledge of man. It's better to go to the correct source of information. Anyways, we're going to teach them this week again. It's just hard to catch ate Sally this week though cause of the festival. We're also going to try to teach Vanessa tomorrow. Hopefully that works out.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yesterday, we taught this guy bong bong (I'm still not sure why bong is a nick name here). This guy had really interesting things to say. He really wanted us to come to him to teach him. He has a good belief in God. He mentioned how all religions are based on a central source and how they are branches of the main source. He also talked about God's government and how it will come to the earth. I tried to explain to him the restoration, which talks about that main source, and sorta about God's government (basically the church's organization)... except he's very madaldal.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, please try to send those scriptures right away. If you can actually send soaps and contact lens solution that'd be great. I'm gonna try some cheap contact solution here.. I don't want to spend too much money right now... personal care items become mahal after awhile... especially when they all run out at the same time and especially when pamasahe is extremely expensive here in Vigan.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So that's life here in Vigan... it's pretty mahal... well that's probably because it's the city. This week is kuripot week. I don't know why were always shopping at pure gold (supermarket)... there's a perfectly good palengke... and it's cheaper. That's what's important. Supermarket is just a luxury but my companion is kind of maarte when it comes to shopping for food. Whatever hehe... that's just what I learned when I was sent far far away to the end of the mission.. Sta Ana.. now I'm at the other end of the mission. And the best area. For some reason, every missionary wants to come here to serve.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, take care all of you and I love you all!!!</div>

And things are going to be crazy here again. It's always crazy here. There's so much people... except in our area. Our area is pretty malayo but we have to make do. Most of our investigators are from referrals. We have 7 baptismal dates and hopefully we can add some more. We had zone training meeting last week and the zone leaders set a goal for us to teach 2 new families by the end of this month. We're trying our hardest but families are really busy. It's fun though just teaching members and trying to get referrals from them. All I've been doing is teaching them from D&C 18. Over and over and over and over again... We also finally got a new BML, President Barrientos' counselor, President Rosario. So this is going to be really fun since he should already be super involved in missionary work.</div>

I think I'll ask them for a whole bunch of birthdays, death dates. It'll probably help a lot. I'm still getting to know the family here, especially uncle Terecisio's family. There's so many of them. I'm still super confused but I'm figuring it out still. I met kuya Alex two kids, may may and ann ann. Little kids. And some of the kids know be by my real name.. it's weird hearing "Uncle Chris." I'm like "kasano ammom ti naganko?" They just somehow know. Haha. That's fine. Auntie Jean has been telling Auntie Linda that she's been going to church. Auntie Linda apparently told her to get baptized now and Auntie Jean told me what Auntie Linda said. Auntie Jean said Auntie Linda should go to church too. So refer missionaries to Auntie Linda please, AGAD!!! HAHAHA. Tell the missionaries at home the referral and send a note saying Elder Morales sent us. The missionaries will send it to HQ. Apparently Auntie Jean has been reading in Ate Karen's shop when she has nothing to do. So far we have been really focusing on auntie, ate Sally's family, inang narcing and Julius. They're really progressing. From there, I figure we can start branching out to the rest of them.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
OH! Ate Sally told me mom used to be the dancing star in the elementary school.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Let's see... any other interesting news... I really can't think of anything. I've cooked all week. Let's see... did I cook.. Sisig, Ginataan, Menudo, Sinigang, Tinola, Adobo, Pinakbet. I made a goal this week to learn how to cook new dishes... but I'm not sure what to cook. Man! Cooking takes time especially when it comes to chopping the vegetables!!! It's fun though. I don't use those powder mixes anymore so yeah.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways that's the news! Take care! Love you all!!!</div>

Lock-down again this week. It was super hard to sleep on new years eve since there were so many fireworks. So if you look at the beautiful pictures, I have photos when we were on a kalesa. MAHAL TALAGA!! New year's resolution... don't ride those again... We also have pictures when we did those lanterns. That was fun. Basically we ate and ate this week. Apparently before I got here, Elder Marsh and Elder Finch we're never given mirienda time. Now we get a lot! Yummy!!! We have to make friends with those we teach. That's all I know. Actually on monday evening, a member invited all the missionaries in Vigan to have dinner at her place. That was really kind of her.</div>

And can you believe it!? I've been out a year! Well.. not really but I have less than a year left. I'm supposed to be done January 1st 2015... what a weird time to finish. Whatever. It'll be a fun way to go home. I rather stay than leave a transfer early or else I would miss one more Christmas Zone Conference. There's a lot to miss out if I leave earlier. One of my batchmates is actually planning on going home for november... that's too bad.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, how is uncle enjoying church? Hopefully he is enjoying it. I might just go back to LaSalle ward when I'm back since it's closer to home and family is there. I rather be with family than at YSA. That's one thing I learned here. That's the culture here.. when you get married, you don't move far away from mommy and daddy. They usually live around the "family house."</div>

So that's the news from Vigan this week! Keep me updated! Love you all and take care kanayon!</div>

<div>
Okay let's see,</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
1. Favourite Experience: Hehe... I don't know yet. I'll let you know when I get home. It's hard to gather all my thoughts especially experiences hehe.</div>
<div>
2. Memorable Experience: Being sent to Vigan.</div>
<div>
3. New Favourite Dish: Sisig</div>
<div>
4. Oddest Filipino Dish: hmm... nothing is really weird to me here...</div>
<div>
5. Best Spiritual Moment: Probably teaching mom's family for the first time.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And yes, there is a huge difference between life here and in Canada. People are very simple here and very kind. Back home, it's always busy busy and on the go. It's nice to be simple simple here. I don't need much to survive. Culture shock wasn't that very hard on me, even if I was sent to Sta. Ana as my first area. I think i had trouble adjusting to Philippine City Life when I went to Laoag hehe.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Hello!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Christmas last week. With a nice lockdown. We stayed inside Tuesday night. We had to be in our apartments at 5. Our neighbour came to bring us snacks. It was a good night. We actually we watched "The church: 50 Years in the Philippines." It was a lot of dancing and history. So that's basically how we spent our Christmas. We actually got up at midnight to open our presents. The cologne I got from mama and papa smells really good. It's kind of strong too haha. Whatever, at least it smells good. For Christmas day, we went to San Pedro and had breakfast there. I met more family. Every time we visit them I meet more and more family members. Like some of your cousins mom. I met ate Karen then. Friday, we had dinner at ate Ria's place and met her family. We actually committed them to baptism that day but no baptismal date. That's the next step. We explained to them they need to pray, read, and come to church to know if it's true. They accepted that. And guess what, they came to church on sunday (Auntie Jean, Raven, Julius, and some guy Jake). Auntie said "masarap ang pakiramdam," which translates badly when put into english. So that's good. They actually know a lot of people at church. Auntie says she knows the branch president. Although they attended the wrong branch, they said they will attend Vigan 1 next week. We also went to go teach this family yesterday, the 1st councilor, and found out he's originally from San Pedro (his mother), who ends up being related to Raven. It's really funny how things connect.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hopefully, things will continue in a good way.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, this month was a hard month. Pamasahe here is super expensive since our area is so far away. We've been walking and walking and finding and finding. We have been giving pamphlets out to a whole bunch of random people. Every time we talk to a tryce driver, we end up having to give him as a referral to the sisters in Vigan. We really can't find in Caoayan. We tried finding there but there were actually no people there for some odd reason. Maybe it's because of the holiday season. I don't know. Hopefully something picks up.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For this week, it's going to be the same thing, but we have more people to teach from all those we found last week. It'll be fun. One of the things we kind of need to work on is helping the members get excited in doing missionary work. It's really hard to share the gospel being a member because we don't have that nametag. But it's super effective. People are scared of the black name tag. We have been asking members to give out pamphlets for us and to think of people (friends, family, neighbours) who we can teach. We got some. So the work is moving forward here!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Other than that, I'm good. It's actually really cold here now. I have to sleep with two blankets because of how cold it is. We have to sleep with a fan too to drive away bugs at night. So it's kind of odd sleeping in the cold with a fan. Survival guide to the Philippines. During the day it gets really hot. So that's that.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, I love you all! Give me updates! Take care!</div>

<div>
Hello family,<br /><br />Guess where I am? So, <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_2131088649" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">friday</span></span> morning, President Barrientos came to our apartment to tell us the big news in the office. I've been transferred from the office. President sent me to Vigan to go find our family. And guess where I'm right now. In San Pedro. Auntie Jean is sitting right behind me. I got to meet most of them. We're going back <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_2131088650" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on friday</span></span> night to share with them. President gave me special permission to cross areas so I could go teach them. That's why President kicked me out of the office so early. I beat <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood out of there. It's kind of sad leaving the office but I have lots of work to do. Part of the reason why we left I left so soon is that he wants us to baptize more. Vigan has a lot of potential here for baptism. It's nice to be able to work here. I always say in testimonies when I'm in my previous areas is that we should do missionary work to our family. Now I can. Blessing talaga.<br /></div>
So the day before transfers, President and Sister took us out for a office P-day. We went to heritage road and took pictures. Ate a lot of food. There's pictures. And spent the rest of the day in Baluarte to look at animals and a very drugged up tiger. We have a picture with it.<br /></div>
As for skype, we haven't figured out when yet. </div>

Actually the whole office is decorated. <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Bulseco told me that, in the Philippines, they celebrate Christmas starting since September. So on our Christmas tree, if you look at the photos, you will see that it's a missionary Christmas tree. There's a daily planner and pass-along cards. We had to find some way to decorate the tree.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Preparation has been super tedious. We spent a whole day looking for a video camera but found none. Sister Barrientos wants to film the dances and the skits of each zone. I guess we'll just film it using a regular camera. We also had to deliver mattresses to certain apartments here in Laoag because we have to put all 120 missionaries somewhere to sleep overnight. We're just squeezing them all on the floor. After we delivered mattresses, President and Sister treated us out to dinner because it was late. We really haven't eaten in our apartment. We won't even be sleeping in our own apartment for the next two days! We'll be sleeping in the office. We'll be fed well for the next few days. I'm getting fat... Weigh in: 143.3 lbs. Yes... and my stomach just keeps growing. Well that's after I eat. We had nilaga in the mission home for lunch. Yummy. Patis and kalamansi. I just miss those kind of dishes. We're too lazy to make it because it takes time. We just cook sisig, bicol express, pinakbet... and whatever. We have so much meat in our freezer.. we didn't really touch it last week so we don't have to spend much this week... or the next week.. or the week after... or the week after that too... It's transfer week next week.. then Christmas week... then New Years week... So a lot of being fed. It's nice.</div>

<div>
To prepare more for Christmas Zone Conference, we had to make 220 standards cards. After we finished folding and slicing the cards, we received an pdate that we need to make a change to the card! So restart... As I was slicing the papers, I accidentally sliced off a small chunk of my finger at the tip.. That wasn't fun. But I'm still alive.</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Hello all!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sorry for the late email. We travelled all the way to Sta Ana yesterday. We left at 5 am yesterday morning and arrived <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_2131088646" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">11 pm</span></span>last night. We had to stop by every area to drop off their supplies. Supplies finally came in. While we were in Gonzaga area, we found their bamboo sticks outside for Tinikling so we made them sample while me and <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood clicked. What was hard about delivery, it was raining up north. In Sta Ana, <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> del Rosario fed us. Then when we reached Sanchez Mira, the sisters gave us a whole bunch of snacks. So we were fed... well... Not really. Basta, we ate.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And as I was sitting here writing this email, I received the package.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And we finally contacted the french guy. When he finally answered his door, he came out and he kinna looked like Leon when you ring his doorbell... half naked... in his underwear only. It was really... odd. He's an old french guy from france and we have no clue why he's here. I tried to speak to him in French but I kept throwing in Tagalog in the conversation... Basta, we understood each other. And he said, "Pour moi, il n'y a pas Dieu." That's too bad.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another day, we had exchanges and we walked into this group of people who were wanting to know what we do as missionaries. There were a few of them that were genuinely interested but there was this one guy who was asking a whole bunch of ridiculous questions. The first statement was how the Bible is a complete and perfect book. So I already knew where this was going. So he first asked this question, since we brought up how everyone needs Christ. He said, "What happens to those people who didn't know about Christ, for example, who lived before Christ, or those who live in the Mountains, who knew nothing about Christ?" I tried to explain to him we can't teach everything to him but he kept insisting that we tell him so I gave him a plan of salvation pamphlet. He kept insisting for the answer so I told him you need to understand prophets first before we can tell you... and we can't share you all in one lesson because our message is LOOOONG! </div>
</div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" type="cite">
<div dir="ltr">
<div>
The answer to his question is that all will be saved because of the plan of salvation. So we started teaching him the restoration. When we reached the apostasy, I raised the fact that there's a lot of churches and we need to know which is true. He asked "How many churches are true?" then I asked him if he meant which church is true. He insisted on how many then I said... "Dapat isa." Then he agreed so he goes on to say "So if one is true, that means everything else is false right?" Obviously I'm not going to agree with that so <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Ewell said how every church has truth but not the whole truth. But he kept on insisting that all other churches were wrong. We repeated ourselves again but then he used this example of what if someone asked you to buy a kilo of rice and you go and buy 10 kilos. You're wrong but you're still right. Basta, his comparison is ridiculous. Then we reached about Joseph Smith and how he read the Bible. I said that the Bible is the word of God. Then he asks me if I'm sure that it's the word of God so I say "Yes!" Then he goes on to say how the Bible has the words of demons. I agreed with him but told him that those are quotations from the prophets, who are called of God. This guy was really interesting. There's more but that's enough for now haha.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Then back 2 transfers ago, we received a referral from when the missionaries worked in our area for the incoming. We were warned that he's bakla and works in a parlour so it's hard to reach him at this time of the year. As we were walking past his house looking for a less active, we saw this woman that had the build of a man. <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood turns to me and asks me if that's Alvin. I'm sure it was. So we ask someone around there where Alvin is.. and it turns out to be him. So we taught him and he seems genuinely interested. There's going to be a huge hurdle for him getting baptized but if he truly wants to, then he'll accept.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So that's what's interesting here. Other than that, we finally got a new investigator at church, sister Theresa. She's the best friend of Sister Simpliciano. We finally found out why Sister Simpliciano is not looking for her birth certificate, medyo tamad siya. It's in her house! Once she finds it, then it's going to be quick to start the process of marriage!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Next week is Christmas Zone Conference. We finally finished the dance for Itik-itik. It's really funny. We also have <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Tate acting as a fairy for the play. There will be pictures. Marami. Maraming maraming preparations na gawin. We have to make shirts for the office and for the zone. So we have lots of shirts. It's pretty cool. Anyways, this is Christmas mission life. I'll send pictures next week when I get more!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love you all!</div>

Tacos and looking for Jonathan or is it Becky??? <blockquote style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" type="cite">
<div dir="ltr">
Hello and good hapon!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So let's see what I did this past week... Well we had interviews with President. The office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span> and assistants did not get interviewed because he'll just interview us at the office. Sister Barrientos gave us a training on health and told us about this pill we're supposed to take every 6 months called Antiox. Basically what it does is that it kills the worms inside you and you poop the worms. So us office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span> gave it a shot. It costs 102 PHP each! Mahal! (Not really... but to us it's mahal) After I took the pill, I was so afraid to poop in case I'd see worms in the toilet. There's a picture of the little white Antiox pill. It tasted like chocolate.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also took this picture of the mexican restaurant in Laoag. It really tastes like mexican food. We we're taking duck face pictures because we danced itik-itik that day. We're almost done the dance but the steps are way weird because the counting is way off... Then we have american's trying to correct the dance steps, which they don't know themselves. It's throwing me way off. They're 8 counting a waltz step, which totally doesn't work... Whatever, it'll be fine. At least the main steps are complete, we can easily correct the counts. To get to the dance practice, we rode kalesa. That was fun.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So now, we have a lot of preparations to do for Christmas Zone Conference. Basically President told us we have to take care of everything. We also have to go make t-shirts made for all the office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span>. So much work! It's even harder now. I have missionaries nagging me for Book of Mormons and pamphlets but unfortunately I'm super stuck since I have a ton of supplies on back-order. Hastening of the work but no hastening of supplies hehe. Office work is tough. I'll live hehe. We did have an office meeting on sunday and it was good. President reminded us that even though we don't have much baptisms in the office, we help other missionaries baptize others. He told us to sit back and relax sometimes. Then we ate tacos and filipino BBQ. And President was making jokes again as usual. It's always a good night when we have meetings with him.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we found out about one of our baptismal dates. Gareth moved... but back to Buttong, which is either my area or the other office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span>' area. We also tried contacting referrals and we actually found one. <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood said he tried looking for her before but couldn't find her. They even asked this member, Brother Santos, if he knew her then but he said no. We asked last week if he knew her and he did. He pointed out the house for us and we tried the compound. They pointed to the house out back and as we walked closer, this lady said "Hello <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elders</span>, nandoon po siya." It's as if they're expecting us. The referral, Abby, was happy to have us there. I guess she was waiting for quite a while. So we set up a return appointment.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Pincock wants me to mention that they received a referral and his name is Jonathan Lorenzo. The sisters in Laoag 3 said how he is a bit feminine. So they go searching for him asking around and people are going... "Jonathan...? Oh Becky! Over there" So they go and find this bakla and acted super feminine and ... yes that was Jonathan. He was super excited to meet them. They actually committed him to baptism. And it's good. He already goes to church. We'll see what happens.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sooooo.... not much else interesting here. Oh yes, and we do have 1.5 hours now to do email... yet... no emails to actually read. So please tell people to email me or something. I feel kuwawa sometimes hehe. It's okay. Anyways, Happy birthday Alex! Hope it was good! And I totally miss eating that cake. Therefore, I'm expecting a whole cake of "Alex" cake when I get off that plane hehe. And yes... soon to be Happy Birthday for balong.. I mean Jordan hehe. I hope I'm still in the office for my next birthday. President takes us all out for any office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span> birthday. <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> del Rosario got a cake for his birthday because he was serving in Laoag. They take good care of us so no worries.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, just send out that balikbayan box agad. The sooner it gets here the better. Basta, it's here :) Ok. Sige. Take care all of you! Mahal ko kayo! Ayo-ayo.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Lol!<blockquote style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" type="cite">
<div dir="ltr">
So hmmm... what is interesting this past week. Well maybe let's go backwards in days. So yesterday we had zone activity. Part of it was in preparation for the Christmas Zone Conference. Each zone has to prepare a filipino folk dance. Ours is Itik-itik. So imagine a bunch of missionaries pretending to act like ducks. It's funnier since our zone is mostly foreigners. There's only 6 filipinos I think. And as usual when learning these folk dances, we spent like... half an our doing the entrance walk. The zone leaders planned for a second activity to go to the sand dunes so we didn't get much done in the dance... mainly the entrance walk and one part. (Probably a bad idea since christmas zone conference is in a few weeks).<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So then we went to the sand dunes. We did sand boarding and stuff like what we would usually do on snow. I ate sand basically. I went down on the sand board and my board twisted so I landed face first. That was fun hehe.</div>

<div>
And in terms of proselyting, we have this one investigator, we finally got him to church! We told him to come look at the job listings at the chapel and then we made him stay for all 3 hours afterwards. He enjoyed it so that's good. We visited him yesterday and found out he has to move! He's still moving withing Laoag except not in our area anymore. The same thing is happening to our other investigator. She has to move too! Both of them have baptismal dates! Oh well. We'll just refer them to the other areas. But what's good is that we have been teaching this family who have been investigating the church for 12 years. They have a baptismal date again. They're super active at church. The bad part is that nanay and tatay are not yet married. But we've been pushing hard for them to get their birth certificates and what not for their wedding. The best part is now, they are doing missionary work. We committed nanay's best friend to baptism. She sat in the lesson yesterday about fasting. She decided to try fasting even though she is a new investigator. It's great! <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood said that he hasn't had a baptism here in Laoag City since he's been here. Hopefully we can change that.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So for today, we wake up to no water pressure. So we had no way of doing laundry or cleaning or showering. So we just took our laundry machine to the mission home and did it outside. We are pretty kuwawa today. It's okay. We got to have a hot shower at the mission home. I haven't had that in 10 months!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Oh by the way, what do you use to make your sabaw thick? Halimbawa, how can I make my sabaw thicker? Like for menudo or whatever? I've been cooking a whole bunch of random stuff. Masarap pa rin.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For the box, just send me whatever. I need pepto-bismol tablets though. Cologne is good too. I don't know if it'd be cheaper here. But yeah, Christmas decorations I would like before christmas but if you can't that's fine. Basta, anything in the package is good.</div>
<div>

Hello!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we are safe here. The super typhoon hit down south in Visayas. I'm sure you got the email from the mission. I saw your response hehe. Anyways, apparently Auntie Jean is progressing here. The sisters are really working hard on them. Hopefully I hear more news about them. Hopefully they also find ate Karen. They told me they'd give me updates. Hopefully Uncle Lito softens up to the missionary lessons. Missionary work really starts at the home and that's what we're trying to really push for over here. Sometimes people are afraid when they hear of mormons because theres so many BAWAL! But they miss the fact that we really know how to have fun. Like for example, yesterday, we had the zone leaders and sister training leaders here and we played games. President Barrientos was really having fun! He was laughing so hard because so of the games are really funny.</div>

Anyways, these past two weeks were super busy. We had the departing missionaries. There were 5. So it's kind of weird sending out missionaries. It made us a bit homesick but it's fine. What made it worse is that while we were waiting for the incoming missionaries, there was a returning missionary and he ran straight to his parents so it make us even more homesick. Then the incoming finally arrived. There's this one <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elder</span> who is 6'9". He's extremely TALL!!! On friday, we had to bring all the new arrival's luggages to up north. So we travelled all the way to Aparri and stayed in Allacapan. It was a loooooooong drive. I drove there and drove back. It's a 6 hour drive. I got to drive on the mountain. It's fun. Going down, don't need to even press on the gas. Just freefall. Just press on the brakes a lot.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And again for office work, we had to do more arts and crafts. I put stickers on all the DVD players and DVDs to keep track of what we have. I had to keep calling all companionships to return all there stuff. So the desk in the office was filled with over 40 DVD players. That was fun.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We also weren't really able to teach this week. The incoming taught in our area and found our guy with a baptismal date. We always try to teach him but he's never there. But when <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Prakash found him, they found out he's been waiting for us to go to his place. He's also been reading the Book of Mormon every night and has been marking it. It's pretty cool. Now we just need to baptize him.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, who's the new stake president!? I want to know. If not, I'll just check online. It's always there.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, send my regards to everyone. Send my regards too to Margareth and safe, even when driving.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love you all!</div>

Take care!</div>

Hello!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That's super cool! That's <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Soriano by the way. I got to meet him several times! And that Scott is I think Scott Ramos. I've heard about him. That's super funny. While I was reading I was wondering why Scott was going to church there in LaSalle, but then I read that her brother served in Laoag, I knew that it was <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Soriano. He was actually the past finance <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elder</span>. Actually, a lot of canadians serve in the office, especially filipino canadians or whatever.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I got some really cool news. This past week, I met one of President Barrientos counselors, President Rosario. He's from Vigan. I was working in the office and I told him I have family from there. And I told him that their last name is Altares. Then his wife was asking me about this person named Karen. I found out that she is the daughter of aunti Jean. So Karen married into President Rosario's family somehow. Long story. President Rosario also told me that he was branch president in vigan when inang used to attend there. So President Rosario's wife called ate Karen and made me talk to her and I did. It was really cool. Then i referred the sisters in Vigan to go teach her but they were already looking for her. President Rosario told President Barrientos and if i do serve in Vigan, I'll be allowed to go visit them there.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As for the my driver's license, I finally got it! It took a whole transfer and 9 visits to the LTO but I finally have it so now I can drive. So many problems arose when I tried to get my license.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. Needed a translation because it was in French.</div>
<div>
2. My Visa expired on the photocopy so I had to get the update.</div>
<div>
3. The update wasn't long enough so we went to Batac.</div>
<div>
4. In Batac, the translation wasn't official enough so I had to wait for the head officer for monday.</div>
<div>
5. The LTO in batac was closed on monday.</div>
<div>
6. The chief officer approved the translation but then, they wouldn't allow me getting a license because the name on my license is missing Jomar because it's on my passport.</div>
<div>
7. Went to the LTO in Batac after getting an ACR but it was closed.</div>
<div>
8. Tried again but then the something was offline so they can't process licenses.</div>
<div>
9. Decided to go to Laoag LTO. Got it!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Whatever.. I can drive now.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So for Halloween, we had bagyo! (rainstorm)</div>

It was pretty loud at night. We were on lockdown so no proselyting. It hit Sta. Ana first and was pretty strong here at night. It was really loud so we couldn't really sleep. The day before, the mitsubishi dealership finally put up it's sign. That night, I swear I heard it fall or something. We checked and it was destroyed!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As for work, we didn't get to teach much. We were out travelling to different places signing contracts for apartments. That takes up a lot of time. We also have to deliver furnishings to the new apartments. We have 29 new missionaries coming so that means we're opening up new areas. And we have one brand brand new area opening, San Juan. It's exciting.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, for the balikbayan box, it's not necessary to get all these stuff but here's some ideas:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Real maple syrup</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Maple or chocolate fudge (check for maple stuff in front of eaton centre where the guy sells maple stuff. Not sure if he's still there)</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Mentos (not mint)</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Candies (Jolly Ranchers, get the ones from dollarama. They have different flavours and are really cheap. Also starburst!)</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Chocolates, kahit ano.</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Dried fruits for baking (if that exists, not really necessary)</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Candy canes?</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Candy cane hot chocolate.</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">More pictures!</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Cologne maybe?</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Pepto-bismol tablets</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Peanut butter?</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Poptarts?</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Cereal?</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;">Christmas decorations, just a bit.</li>
<li style="margin-left: 15px;"><span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Pincock said he wants doritos.</li>
</ul>
<div>
Just try to go cheap especially at the dollar store. Best place for candies. Super cheap.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, I don't need a white long sleeve anymore. President and Sister Barrientos bought us one each. I'm not sure if one each. All he said is that the office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elders</span> need to look good. I totally agree with him! And smell good too.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So those are my stories this week. Nothing else. Thanks for the updates! Love you all and take care!</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So this past week, hmm... we worked alot in the office. Even this week too. We're pretty much preparing for transfer week. We only got two lessons last week. We're suppose to have 32. Welcome to the office! Hehe. It's fine. I'm completely aware of what was going to happen to our work once we're in here. I get to serve in a different way though. Help other missionaries fulfill their purpose. So technically, we're helping other missionaries baptize. Totally indirectly!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So thanks for all the interesting news from back home. I was totally shocked when you told me President Jarvis is going to be released. Oh and tell Esa happy birthday for me!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So let's see if I could put some stories behind these pictures. So the one with the boxes and the cellphone is because we had special guests coming so we had to clean and I just received a big order of supplies that day. So that was fun. I also took pictures of the office.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Being an office <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">elder</span>, especially supplies, everyone asks me if they have a package. One sister kept asking me every time so I told her I'll text her once she gets her package. And so it came. She sees it and it's not the one from her family. As soon as she left, her package came from her family! Terrible timing! But she came back and gave us chocolate and left a mess on the floor of the office. </div>

Then last night, we we're redoing our transfer board by making the names smaller so it could all fit. So there's pictures of us working. Especially with the lamination machine! That was fun!</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I still can't get my driver's license. Hopefully today is the day. It's either with the translation or the visa is about to expire so we need an update. All we did last week is look at apartments, deliver furnishings, sign for apartments. That's basically what <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood does. That's finance. That's what I'll be doing later on.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So we ran out of rice and water the past few days but we survived! We ended up cooking a lot of pasta. I basically experimented a lot with the sauces and they were delicious. We're also experimenting with no-bake cookies. They're so good. We just keep making random foods here since we can. Oh yeah, we also cooked kare-kare. It lasted mean and <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Bulseco 4 meals. Try putting puso ng saging (banana heart?). It tastes really good with that.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Next week is going to be fun. It's transfer week. We'll be fed. We'll be sleeping late. We'll be waking up early. But the food makes up for it. It's almost like condolence meal. It's all good.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So that's the news. Can't think of anything else right now. Agannadkayon! Love you all!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

Naimbag a malem dagiti dakdakkelko! Diak ammo ti ilocano gapu ta narigat a maisuruan. So here's two nice pictures that I took last week. So we got a massive order of supplies and then we found out that <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> and Sister French were coming so President told us to clean. Especially the supplies room. I got it clean though.</div>

So we had several meetings with President this week. We really work closely with President. But we get fed after the meetings. So we went to McDonald's the first time and then went driving around Laoag to deliver stuff for missionaries with President, Sister and the APs. That was fun. Then we went to San Nicolas to pick up durian from one of the sisters' apartment. It's President's favourite.... fruit? It stinks like poop! Well more like really rotten onions but it tastes like... I don't know. It's alright. Then we sere supposed to work on thursday but then we had surprise errands to do at night. We had to pick up chairs and foams. Then President and Sister took us out to dinner to a place called Papa Pau's. It was super delicious. Well everything is. Then yesterday night we had another meeting and ate at the mission home. </div>
</div>

Then President asked us after the meeting if we wanted to see a hair fight. So he asked us to get a black hair and a blonde hair strand and he ran to the kitchen and put water in a dish then put the two hairs in it. So we watched closely and then President slammed his hand on the dish! And we were soaking wet! Especially <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Oden! It's always fun with President.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
One day, me and <span class="il" style="background-color: #ffffcc;">Elder</span> Wood were proselyting in this really nice place called Northcrest division. Then we we're walking down this path and this dog seemed really angry and starting jogging down this long stretch of path. The dog wasn't even running fast but more like slowly running. We then started walking backwards getting ready to hit the dog with our bags. It was pretty weird. We also been committing baptismal dates here as much as we can. We have these eternal investigators and they have a baptismal date but the problem is that nanay wants to take care of the wedding all by herself. We finally helped her realized that she should be focused on temple marriage and getting married for her family than having this grand wedding. The ward is also willing to help them. So hopefully we get them baptized after 11 years!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this upcoming week, I'll probably have like a million pictures because we're travelling down to Vigan again and then we're going up north to Lal-lo. We have around 30 missionaries coming in this transfer and we have nowhere to put them so all missionaries are apartment hunting. We're seriously in an exciting time being a missionary. I've got to experience the hastening of the work since the MTC. My batch was the first to experience the 6-week program at the MTC. We also had the age lowering at that time. And we have the hastening of the work here in the mission.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyways, take care all of you! Love you all</div>

<div>
Anyways, we finally watched General Conference last weekend. It was great. Seems like the general theme was repentance. Also they kept saying how sin, even if man legalizes it, is still sin. Mainly repentance is our biggest focus here now as we teach. We had been taught that last zone conference. Also, in the office, we had a meeting with President and we are focused on helping leaders and families work with the missionaries. Since there's a hastening of the work, members are meant to shine with the missionaries. President Barrientos said that missionary work must start at the home.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Hmmm.. anyways, after the meeting, we went out to McDonald's. All of us. The APs, President and Sister Barrientos and all us office elders. It was pretty fun just to hang out with them. Then we drove around to different areas for deliveries. Then President made us eat durian. He says it smells like hell but tastes like heaven. And yeah.. it smells pretty bad! It does taste good though.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So last tuesday, we went to go get haircuts. We went to David's Salon. It's filled with baklas.(gays) So I got shampooing from a bakla. It's weird. After that, as I'm sitting on the chair, I get a back massage from a bakla. (Note that President referred us to this place cause that's where he goes). I look at Elder Wood and he's getting a massage so it's fine. But a bakla was giving a massage... it was weird. Then they gave me a picture book to pick a haircut. It was alright but as you get closer to the back of the picture book, it gets pretty gay. Almost naked men. So I asked for the Piolo Pascual haircut cause it was good enough. So now I have a Piolo Pascual haircut.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Anyways, I've went to Vigan several times already and keep hearing news. I actually met the fellowshipper for auntie Jean. They were in the mission office last week because their daughter was waiting to be sent to the airport to go serve. The Serapion family is there name. Brother Serapion told me that auntie Jean has a baptismal date alongside with kuya Julius. I'm still not sure who he is. Pray hard for them. Hopefully the rest of our family here will be open to the message. Ate Ria won't do much because her kuan... ummm her husband or boyfriend.. is never there.. so I need to find out his name and where he is so work can get started by the missionaries wherever he is. When they get baptized, I have permission to go baptize them. That'd be so cool. Anyways, wala nang balita dito. It's basically just office office office. We are considering turning our lives in the office into a tv show and calling it "The Office." Funny things just happen here. It's fun because we get to work closely with President. We're basically other APs but don't do as much as APs do.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Anyways, take care all of you!!</div>

We had to sleep late, wake up early, eat late. But at least we got fed. We got free breakfast from the mission home. We got free meals from President and Sister Barrientos. We also had a office meeting and after that we had dinner. President kept making jokes all night. It was a good night. So office work is pretty tough. We're always here and we work less hours than normal missionaries. 5 hours lang bawat isang araw. Nais ko na magtrabaho pero ayos naman kasi ito ay ang pagkakataon upang na makapagsilbi sa mga ibang misyonero dito sa Laoag mission. </div>

Transferred to the office to do finance! <br />
Elder Morales letter below is all in tagalog and we apologize that we can't translate it all or at all! Lol! But fortunately, in miraculous way, the Lord also blessed us with understanding of the language. He is transferred and mentioned in his last email how he was not looking forward to the office especially doing what he's terrible at..finance but he does know its a blessing in disguise. Good luck reading.<br />

Hello!!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wQ5P_YGY4mQ/Ul2UAS3aZLI/AAAAAAAABlU/tFVnCgdMBoI/s1600/zone+conf.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wQ5P_YGY4mQ/Ul2UAS3aZLI/AAAAAAAABlU/tFVnCgdMBoI/s320/zone+conf.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
Sayang!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sinabi ni Elder Wood, mahirap na mabinyagan dito sa Laoag kasi parte ng area namin ay magiging sisters' area. At ang area nila ay sa centro! Ayos lang. We'll survive. Pero, ito ibig-sabihin na kailangan namin na mag-find palagi. Sana, hindi ako maghahanap para sa 9 months... Oo.. magiging bale 9 months dito sa office. Matagal talaga! Pero magiging masayan pa rin. Si President Barrientos ay nandito siya palagi. Kaya, I'll be with him palagi.
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hmm... wala talagang interesting last week except yung baguio. Magiging interesting this week dahil ng transfers. Ang daming misyonero itong transfer na papasok dito sa Laoag! Bale 25!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Paki-sabi kay Jordan at Alex na mag-email sa akin! At ano ang balita sa tahanan? Anyways, good luck sa pagbabasa ng sulat ko. Ingat kayo lagi at mahal na mahal ko kayo!</div>
